Energy Sources/ House 4-19

I chose hydropower. I chose this not only because it is a renewable energy source it is the cleanest. In the past thousands of years, the water level in the ocean has raised and more water is flowing around due to the melting of glaciers due to global warming. There will always be glaciers melting which means there will always be water. In that matter there will always be hydropower. You don't have to live near a river to get electricity from hydropower plants. In fact people cannot live near one because the plants can cause damage to the habitat. There is not much anyone can do about that situation. Unfortunately a gas called methane is sometimes created when a dam is used and again there is almost nothing we can do about that. The disadvantages are minor in comparison to the amount of rainfall, snow, hail and other water contributed precipitation we get to fill the dams that have hydropower plants resting on top of them. Hydropower is not the most popular way to power a home but I believe its the most efficient.

  1. Rayleen I think you have a great point. Hydropower is a great source for energy and I think you displayed that very well in your blog. I do agree with you on how efficient Hydropower is. Hydrow power is clean and cheap and it is great that you would want to fuel your home with it. Great Job
